Program: Science Activity Day - 26th May ‘12

Yuva Unstoppable team celebrated Science activity day with kids at “Weekend School Project.” The kids enjoyed learning about the everyday science that we experience in every moment of our life. Kids were given information on how the science applies in the process of Condensation, Digestion, Solar System, Galaxies, Earth and its facts, Geography etc.



All the thirty kids were divided among the 15 Yuva-ites. Every Yuva-ite spends time with 2 kids for an hour and shared the knowledge. Later, Yuva-ite played a “Bottle Round” game with kids to take their feedback and to test their grasping power. It was fun 
 

Juice Distribution in summer



Yuva team shared the juice with kindness and love to make kids chill this summer. The kids at slum received glasses of juice donated by Jignesh bhai who have been a great support to these kids. All the kids at projects received juice who learns at weekend class. 

Drawing Competition among kids

​Sweet kids received colors donated by Hill Woods School students and prepared beautiful drawing while a compitition conducted by Cheer Yuva Leader Sudha, Khushboo, Suman, Siddhi, Ritu and team.

Congratulations to top three winners who received colorful notebooks made by Hill Woods School Students with the help of  waste material. 

Stationary Donation  before annual examination

 

Yuva team gifted pencils, pens, sharper, scale, rubber  to the students at slum. It was great encourage students to do good in their exams after the weekend class. Kids enjoyed having our care and love for them.

Distribution of Chocklates and Biscuits

 

Gandhinagar Engineering College Students shared chocolates and biscuit  to the kids whom we have been teaching from past 4 months. It was distributed to encourage the students for their exams which was started in the month of April'12.

Doing study is not fun all time! It was a time to enjoy ice-cream for the improvement shown in their behavior and studies. It was a great to see them standing in a row for their turn to get an ice-cream, it was fun and masti while sharing this gift.

Indoor Games Activity  10-06-2012


Summer vacations are about to end and soon schools will start. It will again gonna be regular weekend teaching sessions starting from July at the project so we decided to have fun with kids by playing indoor games. Kids at the Akshardham Project enjoyed playing Cheess, Snake N' ladders, Puzzles, making Greeting Cards. We invited Mr. Pratik Vasant, a corporate leader from a well known company Collebera (Baroda) to share his learnings with Yuva-ites and a small training conducted on importance on building good relations.

 

Program: VEGETABLE ART WORKSHOP - 3rd June ‘12

Vegetable Art Workshop organized at Weekend school project to bring the creativity in the life of the kids. The team decided to oragnize this activity in which kids were being taught to make drawings with the help of vegetable art. Kids had great fun while learning vegetable art on paper. Isn't interesting to spend time with kids and teach them art of becoming creative. We live it, enjoy it and have fun doing it :)

​WEEKEND SCHOOL PROJECT, a day coaching center for slum kids located nearby Akshardham Temple in Sector 20, Gandhinagar, Gujarat (India). A team of young and passionate students of LDRP College, Govt. Engineering College of Gandhinagar  initiated the project in January 2012.  The team comprises of Volunteers from several top Management & Engineering colleges from Gandhinagar and a few corporate employees from Infocity who visits the project every weekend to teach students basic Mathematics, English, Computer, current affairs, health & hygine good habits and sharing of moral stories for healthy living. 



The Project was started in January 2012 to guide and motivate the families & their kids. The prime motive is to promote the hidden talents and educate the Women about health and hygiene & also provides them vocational training to make them independent.



The project has been initiated after doing a survey in 7 slums in Gandhinagar while we celebrated 2012 New Year by distributing chocolates, cookies, clothes to explore the living standards and understanding of people living in different areas of slum in Gandhinagar.


The Project has been led Viraj Vyas from Govt. Engineering College & Jay Patel from LDRP College Gandhinagar from January -  June'12 and presently it is being led by Nachiket Sandhu & Kishan Suchek from Government Engineering College, Gandhinagar The project leads are being mentored by the Vice President, Positive Rishikumar.  Project leads and Mentors role is to provide tools & resources to the team and train the YUVA Volunteers to become creative, fearless, courageous, and learn communication skills, relationship building, socializing, increase their ability to solve problems and to make them realize the responsibilities for our state and nation as a true leader in every sense.
